Ahmedabad: A minor quarrel between two children in a society in Tragad escalated when one spat on the other, prompting a confrontation between their parents and a complaint at the Sabarmati police station. A 47-year-old man, a software engineer, alleged in his complaint that a child’s mother slapped his seven-year-old son.The skirmish unfolded on the evening of Aug 1 when the complainant’s seven-year-old son was playing near the society’s A Block. The complainant alleged that another child first teased his son and spat on his face, and a fight broke out between the two children.The situation escalated when the other child’s mother came downstairs. According to the complaint, she allegedly took the seven-year-old boy towards his home and slapped him twice.The father said his son felt traumatised, and complained of pain in his head, neck and behind both ears after the incident. He took the child to a hospital, where a medico-legal case was registered.The complainant also alleged that the woman later came to his house with her son and confronted him over the fight between the children. “My son told me that the other child had teased him, spat on his face and started hitting him, after which both children got into a fight,” the complaint states.He further alleged that when he questioned the woman about hitting his son, she became angry and allegedly threatened him. The complainant said he later checked the society’s CCTV footage which showed the woman slapping his son inside the lift.
