Ahmedabad: In a move aimed to improve the planning and execution of road infrastructure, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has decided to engage professors from academic institutions to develop detailed presentations on road development and maintenance across the city.The proposal, which is scheduled to be placed for approval at a meeting chaired by the AMC administrator on March 27, highlights the growing traffic burden in Ahmedabad as a key concern. As per the proposal, professors at junior, middle, and senior levels will be roped in to prepare technical, diagrammatic, and visual presentations focusing on road construction, upkeep, and traffic management. The AMC has also outlined a structured remuneration plan for the experts. Directors and specialists will be paid Rs 7,000 per hour, while senior-level professors will receive Rs 4,400 per hour. Middle-level professors will be paid Rs 2,900 per hour, and junior-level professors Rs 2,000 per hour. Goods and Services Tax (GST) will be paid separately over and above these fees.
