Ahmedabad: A dispute over the transfer of a gym membership allegedly escalated into violence in Juhapura, with a 25-year-old businessman accusing four men of assaulting him and threatening him with a knife.According to a complaint lodged with Vejalpur police on Sunday, the businessman, who runs an online garment business in the Vishala area, had recently helped an acquaintance obtain membership at a gym operated by his brother. The dispute arose when the member sought to transfer the membership to a friend, which the gym staff refused citing their policy.The complainant alleged that the accused argued with a gym employee over the phone regarding the issue. After learning about the incident, he contacted the accused and questioned him about his behaviour towards the staff. The accused allegedly asked him to meet near Memon Hall in Juhapura on Saturday night.When the complainant reached the location, the accused and three associates allegedly confronted him, leading to an argument. According to the FIR, the four men assaulted him with fists and kicks. One of the accused allegedly removed his belt and struck the complainant, with the buckle causing an injury to his forehead.The complainant further alleged that the main accused pulled out a knife and threatened to kill him. The group allegedly fled after local residents gathered at the spot.The victim was shifted to SVP Hospital in a 108 ambulance, where he received outpatient treatment.Vejalpur police have registered a case against Usama Shahid Bakshi, his associate Sahil and two unidentified persons for assault, criminal intimidation and other offences.
