Ahmedabad: An 80-metre-long steel bridge has been successfully launched on Friday over the Anupam Flyover as part of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project. The flyover spans the Ahmedabad-Mumbai main line of Western Railway on the Sabarmati-Vatva section and serves as a key road link between Khokhra Apparel Park Metro Station and Kankaria Lake.In Ahmedabad district, most viaduct construction is being carried out using the span-by-span method, with typical spans ranging from 30 metres to 50 metres. At the Anupam Flyover, however, piers had to be placed on either side of the existing structure, necessitating a longer 80-metre span. The bridge weighs 1,004 metric tonnes and measures 14 metres in height and 14.4 metres in width. Of the 17 steel bridges planned for the bullet train project in Gujarat, 15 have now been completed.
