Gandhinagar: A total of 4,411 students passed the Gujarat board’s HSC Science supplementary examination, taking the overall pass percentage to 27.36%. The results were declared on Friday.According to official figures, 18,549 students registered for the examination, of whom 16,120 appeared. The examination, which was conducted at district centres for students who were unable to clear the Class XII board exams, was held last month.Results showed that A Group recorded a pass percentage of 32.29%, while B Group registered 25.85%. The AB Group posted a pass percentage of 14.29%.Gender-wise data indicated that girls outperformed boys in most categories. In A Group, girls recorded a pass percentage of 35.46%, compared with 31.39% among boys. Similarly, in B Group, girls secured 28.50%, higher than the 22.42% registered by boys. However, no girl passed in the AB Group, while boys recorded a pass percentage of 20%.Category-wise analysis revealed that regular students performed considerably better than repeater candidates. Regular students achieved a pass percentage of 28.80%, whereas repeaters recorded only 18.31%.Under the ‘Best of Two’ scheme, 9,711 students reappeared to improve their scores. Of these, 3,632 students improved their results.Additionally, 10 differently abled students benefited from a 20% relaxation in passing criteria.
