Ahmedabad: A 25-year-old resident of Vasna was murdered by an unidentified man in the early hours of Tuesday while his family slept outside their rented house in Bharwadvas, police said. The victim was identified as Hitesh, who worked at a furniture factory in Sanand and lived with his parents and sister in a rented house in Bharwadvas. His sister, Jyoti, filed a police complaint. Inspector R N Patel said the police registered a case against the unidentified man and were reviewing CCTV footage to identify the assailant.“We finished dinner at around 8pm and were sleeping in the open space.” She stated that at around 2.30am, she woke up after hearing her brother being attacked. “I saw a thin and tall man, wearing a jacket and a cap, striking my brother in the stomach with a sharp weapon,” she said in her complaint. “I shouted, asking why he was attacking my brother, and the unknown man immediately ran away,” the complaint states. She said that she tried to wake Hitesh, but he did not respond and was bleeding following severe injuries.The complainant stated that the neighbours gathered at the spot, and the 108 ambulance was called. However, the doctor declared Hitesh dead, after which they informed police. In her complaint, Jyoti alleged that the attacker may have acted out of “some old enmity”.
