Noida: Rain-related faults disrupted power supply across parts of Noida and Ghaziabad over the past two days, with residents in several localities reporting outages lasting up to eight hours.Officials attributed the disruptions largely to cable faults, transformer snags and repeated tripping triggered by the weather.Residents of Indirapuram, Vasundhara, Vaishali, Tulsi Niketan, Krishna Vihar Kuti, Bhopura and Koyal Enclave reported frequent outages on Wednesday and Thursday.Some areas remained without power for several hours, while repeated tripping and low voltage added to residents’ problems.Rahul Gautam, a resident of Tulsi Niketan Society, said the power supply was disrupted from 7am to 11am and again from 2pm to 5pm after a fresh spell of rain.In Noida, residents of Sectors 4, 12, 44, 55 and 63 also reported outages lasting two to three hours. Officials cited cable faults and transformer-related problems for the disruptions.“Efforts are being made to improve the stability of the power supply, especially during the monsoon season. Residents are urged to report any further issues to the local electricity department for prompt resolution,” said Brijesh Kumar, chief engineer, Zone 3, Ghaziabad power department, PVVNL.Officials said repair teams were deployed to restore supply and address local faults. However, residents continued to report tripping and voltage fluctuations in some areas.Jeet Singh, a resident of Gyan Khand 1, said, “Power cuts have persisted since morning. It is difficult to cope with the humidity when the supply is so erratic.”
