In a press interaction, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal emphasised that the prime minister’s visit has ensured huge investments in key sectors, ranging from AI and semiconductors to defence and LPG supplies. He also mentioned that Modi getting the highest civilian awards from as many as 32 countries shows his stature and popularity on the world stage.
“If we look at the evident outcomes of this visit, UAE has made a commitment of an investment of $75-$100 billion dollars, and $5 billion investment was approved outright. During this visit, issues related to all aspects of living were touched upon- like AI and semiconductor mission in which India is moving forward at a rapid pace, our energy security, our defence partnerships, investments and international trade, encouraging exports, the deal with UAE to ensure LPG availability and delivery to all households, the partnership with UAE to increase the strategic petroleum reserve of 30 million tonne,” Goyal said.
The minister also mentioned Tata Electronics and ASML deal to establish a factory in India and other investments.
“The prime minister’s commitment to serve the nation and his leadership was seen by all at the global level. The world sees India as a trusted partner and a preferred global destination,” he said.
Goyal underlined that a total of 57 outcomes, related to the economy, self-reliance and ease of living of the common people.
BJP heaped praise on the prime minister at a juncture when the Opposition has been slamming the government on the rising petrol and diesel prices due to the blockade in the Strait of Hormuz caused by the US-Israel attack on Iran and the prime minister’s appeal to the people to take austerity measures like avoiding non-essential buying of gold, foreign travel and destination weddings abroad.”The Hormuz crisis is a big challenge for the world. But India thinks on its feet and converts every problem into an opportunity,” Goyal said, adding that India is now buying crude from different countries and has ensured farmers get fertiliser at the same price they paid 12 years back.
He attacked Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi for his strong criticism of Prime Minister Modi during this tour.
“Rahul Gandhi, who harbours negative thinking, shows his nature, character time after time in his words. It is another matter that the people of India have been rejecting him election after election. The frustration of losing and the feeling of hatred arising from it is visible. He has come down to using abusive language and the use of cheap words against the prime minister. Is finishing naxalism betrayal or allowing it to thrive during years of Congress rule betrayal? The country knows that keeping India safe is Modi’s patriotism. The way Congress and the Gandhi family support infiltrators is betrayal,” Goyal said.
