LUDHIANA: Days after the house of singer Diljit Dosanjh’s manager, Gurpartap Singh Kang, was allegedly attacked with gunshots in Gonder village in Haryana’s Karnal district, a threat has been received to blow up the singer’s house in Ludhiana.However, the singer does not live at the house. The threat email was received on the official email address of the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation, in which threats were also made to blow up the Ludhiana Mayor’s residence and office.The email stated that the Ludhiana Mayor’s house would be blown up by 1.11 pm and Diljit Dosanjh’s house by 9.11 pm. The email was received at 7.28 am on the official email ID of the Municipal Corporation and the office of the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation Commissioner, following which police were informed. The email was allegedly sent by a group identifying itself as the ‘Khalistan National Party’.During a recent concert in Canada, Diljit Dosanjh had reportedly warned pro-Khalistan protesters to leave the venue after they displayed pro-Khalistan posters.A Ludhiana official said police personnel were deployed at Dosanjh’s residence, although the singer does not live there.It was alleged that gunshots were fired at the house of Gurpartap Singh Kang on May 13. However, no formal police complaint was filed. Haryana Police had also stated that no evidence of firing was found at the spot.
