Chandigarh: Ambassadors and high commissioners from 21 African countries have sought strengthening of partnerships with Haryana in skill development, entrepreneurship, industrial investment, agriculture, food processing, IT, tourism and cultural cooperation.The international representatives appreciated the state govt’s policies, digital systems and industrial facilitation mechanisms, and expressed confidence in developing concrete cooperation at the Haryana–Africa Strategic Partnership Meeting at Surajkund in Faridabad on Friday. Chief minister Nayab Singh Saini assured the representatives that the Haryana govt would extend full cooperation and support at every level to strengthen areas of trade partnership. Peter Sacks, the representative of South Africa, expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Haryana in skill and entrepreneurship-based programmes, tourism development, skill-based employment for youth, and sectors related to the food processing industry. He stated that joint initiatives in these areas would prove mutually beneficial for both sides. Anisa Kapufi, the high commissioner of Tanzania, referred to the already established partnerships between Haryana and Tanzania. She stated that farmers from Haryana are playing a leading role in agriculture, trade, mining, manufacturing, and the plywood industry in Tanzania. She added that the traditional cooperation between the two regions will continue to grow stronger in the future, and both sides are committed to developing new opportunities together.
