Prayagraj: United Institute of Technology (UIT) on Thursday inaugurated a Very Large Scale Integrated (VLSI) lab to provide hands-on training to students in Integrated Circuit (IC) design using Cadence tools. These tools are basically software products that help engineers design and test electronic chips on computer before physically making them.The lab, developed in collaboration with Trellisign Technologies Private Limited, is the first private VLSI facility of its kind in eastern Uttar Pradesh. The inauguration was attended by UGI president Jagdish Gulati, vice-chairman Satpal Gulati, senior vice-president Gaurav Gulati and Trellisign representative S K Agarwal, along with faculty and dignitaries. An MoU was also signed between the two institutions to strengthen academic collaboration and research.
