Hyderabad: Task Force sleuths of Khairtabad Zone, along with GHMC food-safety officials, raided six dairy outlets near Ganj Bazar in Secunderabad and seized 3.8 tonnes of unhygienic and inferior quality Paneer. Investigators allege the shops were sourcing paneer, khoa and other products from unidentified suppliers, storing them in open plastic bags exposed to dust, insects, and reselling the product to hotels, caterers and walk-in customers for Rs 280 a kilo as `high quality’ paneer. Operators of the six outlets, Jaipal Singh Rajpurohit, Kolariya Vaibhav, Naresh Kolariya, Prem Anil Vyas, Ram Kishore Kolariya and Laxmi Narayana Kolariya were apprehended. Police seized over 2.5 kilo paneer, 927 kilo khoa, 249 kilo white cream, 132 kilo kalakand and 12 kilo ghee, together worth about Rs 11.1 lakh. Police said none of the packages displayed brand names, manufacturing or expiry dates, and no pest-control records were found. The accused and the adulterated stock were handed over to the Mahankali police for further probe. tnn
