Bhubaneswar: The admission process for the two-year BEd, BHEd and MEd programmes for the 2026-27 academic session commenced on Tuesday, with the higher education department opening the online application process. Candidates can apply for around 2,800 seats across the three courses till Aug 7, while the first selection list will be published on Aug 11.According to the department’s notification, candidates can register online and submit their Common Application Form (CAF) till Aug 7. Applicants will be allowed to edit their forms on Aug 8 before the provisional allotment and first selection list are released on Aug 11. Candidates selected in the first round can exercise the freeze, float or slide options and upload the required documents between Aug 11 and Aug 17. Admissions at allotted institutions will be conducted from Aug 12 to Aug 18, with colleges required to update admission data by Aug 19.The second selection list will be published on Aug 20, following which admissions will be held from Aug 21 to Aug 24. Institutions have been directed to update the admission status by Aug 24. The final waiting list will be released on Aug 26, and spot admissions against vacant seats will be conducted between Aug 29 and Sept 5. Colleges must update spot admission data by Sept 2, while the final list of admitted candidates will be published on Sept 5.The department has fixed Sept 8 as the deadline for institutions to upload the details of admitted students to the State Academic Management System (SAMS). Classes for the new academic session will commence on Sept 15. The higher education department has advised candidates to strictly adhere to the admission schedule, stating that no changes will be made to the notified timeline under any circumstances.
