Nagpur: Resident deputy collector Anup Khande has instructed all department heads to fast-track compassionate appointments as per the revised state govt policy announced on July 17 to address long-pending cases and streamline the process. The policy revision came after chief minister issued directives in this regard under the 150-day action plan to make the administration more people-oriented and resolve citizens’ issues within time limits. Khande convened a meeting of all department heads at Niyojan Bhavan on Wednesday. Training was conducted to ensure strict and uniform implementation of the revised policy. Khande emphasised that each department head must take appropriate measures to ensure timely action on the applications.As per the new schedule, under Phase-1 all appointing authorities are instructed to update the compassionate appointment waiting list. This includes changing candidate names, replacing names in the event of a candidate’s death, or removing names of those who have crossed 45 years of age under the High Court’s ruling in writ petition No. 3701/2022 dated August 25, 2024. Additionally, if any family member seeks substitution on the list or if candidates request a change in appointment group, such changes must be executed promptly.Candidates who wish to update or change their details are advised to contact their respective appointing authority and submit the application in the prescribed format along with necessary documents. Khande appealed to all eligible candidates to initiate the process without delay.
