“We have given approval for land transfer to BSF for fencing-related work. Already 90% of the land has been kept ready,” Adhikari said. The CM added: “Census work will start immediately and it will help in women’s reservation.”

The government has decided to start the Ayushman Bharat scheme in Bengal with immediate effect, Adhikari said. The scheme was not allowed by the Mamata Banerjee government. “The health secretary and advisors to the Chief Minister’s Office have been directed to complete the necessary agreement with the Union health ministry at the earliest,” Adhikari said.
“No existing social welfare schemes of the previous government will be discontinued,” the CM said. “The new government will become a ‘paperless office’ and portals will be updated. All direct benefit transfers will be activated in a transparent manner.”
