Lucknow: Antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) therapy is emerging as an effective targeted treatment for cancers affecting multiple organs, doctors at KGMU said at a workshop organised by the Georgian Alumni Association on Saturday.Organising secretary and radiotherapy department faculty, Prof Sudhir Singh, said ADC therapy combines a cancer-targeting antibody with an anti-cancer drug to deliver medication directly to cancer cells, improving precision and reducing damage to healthy cells. He said the therapy is showing results in breast, lung and lymphoma cancers.Gynaecologic oncologist Dr Zoya Siddiqui said biomarkers—biological indicators in blood can help detect lung cancer, identify its type and guide treatment.Surgical oncology department faculty, Prof Naseem Akhtar, said improving immunity through treatment and nutrition plays an important role in cancer care.
