Adani Group has stakes in the power, logistics, mining and cement sectors in Vidarbha. It also has plans for a major coal gasification plant at Kalmeshwar, for which the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) was scouting for land. This week, Adani Defence and Aerospace signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Leonardo for setting up a fully-integrated helicopter manufacturing ecosystem in India. It targets the armed forces’ requirement for advanced helicopters. Adani Defence and Aerospace also announced a partnership with Prime Aero, a company promoted by Prajay Patel, the son of NCP leader Praful Patel, to buy stake in Indamer Technics, which has a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) depot at Mihan-SEZ here.Last year, Adani Defence and Aerospace, along with Prime Aero, finalised an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Flight Simulation Technique Centre Private Limited, dubbed to be the country’s largest independent pilot training organisation. Prime Aero has Vidarbha connections on account of its promoters. Last year, JSW chairman Sajjan Jindal announced a plan to set up a Rs 1 lakh crore integrated steel plant at Gadchiroli.
