tnnKanpur: A joint team of the revenue, police, transport and mining departments conducted a drive in the Ghatampur police station area of Kanpur on Friday night and took action against 91 vehicle owners for violations, including overloading, missing number plates, pressure horns and other traffic rule infractions.The transport and mining department took action against seven vehicle owners for irregularities related to overloading, tax, permit, licence and pressure horns and imposed a fine of approximately Rs 4 lakh 48 thousand.The police department seized 17 vehicles and issued challans to 74 vehicles.SDM Avichal Pratap Singh stated that strict action would continue to be taken against those violating road safety rules. He said that overloading and disregard for traffic rules is not only a violation of law but also poses a major threat to public safety, adding that negligence would not be tolerated.
