Kolkata: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Jadavpur University (JU) unit, has written an email to university authorities asking how permission was granted for the event on Monday at K P Basu Memorial hall where All India Students’ Association national president Neha Bora will be one of the main speakers talking on demands to scrap SIR, ISI bill and other issues.The convention titled “Gen-Z movement: Generation and unity of resistance” is being organised by a collective of left students’ unions.ABVP, JU unit president Nikhil Das said, “Based on an HC order, there is an university circular restricting entry of political netas on campus. So on what ground the permission was granted?” AISA, JU unit secretary, Saptak said, “We have seen netas entering campus and delivering talks during a programme by right-wing supporters. Moreover, ABVP must know the difference between political netas and student activists and research scholars.”A “Nationalist Convention” by Haripada Bharati Smriti Raksha Samiti took place at Triguna Sen auditorium on Sept 3 where Jadavpur MLA Sarbari Mukhopadhyay, BJP neta Rahul Sinha delivered speech.
