Gorakhpur: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) celebrated its 78th Foundation Day and National Students’ Day across educational institutions in Gorakhpur on Thursday. As part of the celebrations, a seminar titled ‘Dhyeyam’ on the theme ‘From Resolve to Achievement’ was organised at Baba Raghav Das Medical College.The seminar highlighted ABVP’s 78-year journey, its organisational vision and its commitment to nation-building. Speakers discussed various movements, constructive initiatives and student-centric campaigns undertaken by the organisation over the decades, as well as their impact on society and the education sector. Students were also encouraged to actively contribute to national development and social welfare.ABVP functionary Abhay Pratap Singh was the chief speaker, while MLC Dharmendra Singh attended as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, Abhay Pratap said ABVP has consistently worked to instil patriotism, social responsibility and character-building values among students since its inception. “ABVP is not merely an organisation that raises student issues; it is a student movement dedicated to nation-building,” he said.Sharing his experiences as a former student activist, the MLC said ABVP had played a significant role in shaping his personality and worldview. He said the organisation has inspired generations of students to put the nation first and serve society in various capacities.The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by ABVP Gorakhpur city president Vivek Shahi, who reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to student welfare, social development and nation-building. The event concluded with the singing of the national song.
