Vadodara: A 25-year-old woman, who intended to take her own life, was saved and counselled by personnel of the Abhayam helpline. A resident of Ankleshwar, the woman came to the city by train a couple of days ago.Abhayam officials said she wanted to end her life and was waiting for a train at Vishwamitri railway station. Some locals saw her late in the night and inquired about her background. The locals then called the Abhayam helpline to rescue her. She said her parents fought frequently and it left her stressed.The woman was already on medication for depression and the fights at home left her perturbed. When the Abhayam team called her father, he told them to put her in jail and cut the call. The team then called her sister who said that she is in Punjab and would come take her home. Abhayam counsellors sent the woman to the Sakhi One Stop Centre.
