Police and the government should ensure justice. If the government deliberately wrongs citizens, they will take to the streets to protest peacefully and democratically seek their rights, he wrote.
AAP workers and leaders, including Bharadwaj and Jarnail Singh, were detained in front of the police headquarters while demanding an FIR against Delhi PWD Minister Parvesh Verma for allegedly slapping a man on Sunday.
There was no immediate response from Delhi Police.
On Sunday, Delhi PWD Minister Verma was inspecting construction of a road in Tilak Nagar area when Singh — MLA from the constituency — arrived and started removing parts of the road, alleging that it had been constructed using low-quality material and could be easily pulled out.
The incident was being recorded by the 22-year-old man, whom Verma allegedly slapped.Later in the day, Verma said he had himself called Singh during the road inspection to seek more details.
He claimed the man accompanying Singh had abused his family, triggering him to slap.
