Srinagar, July 30: The REC/NIT Srinagar Alumni Association (AANITS) has welcomed the appointment of Prof. Anurag Misra as the Full-Time Director of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar, describing it as a landmark moment in the institute’s journey towards academic excellence and institutional growth.

In a statement issued here, the Association extended its heartfelt congratulations to Prof. Misra and expressed confidence that his vast academic and administrative experience would usher NIT Srinagar into a new era of innovation, research, global collaboration and academic distinction.

AANITS President Er. Malay Chatterjee said the alumni fraternity across the globe warmly welcomes Prof. Misra’s appointment and looks forward to working closely with the institute under his visionary leadership.

“The appointment of a full-time Director brings renewed direction and stability to our alma mater. We are confident that Prof. Misra will lead NIT Srinagar towards greater academic excellence, cutting-edge research, stronger industry partnerships and enhanced global visibility. The alumni community stands firmly committed to supporting every initiative aimed at the growth of the institution,” he said.

Vice President Er. Sayyed Parvez termed the appointment a positive development for the institute and hoped that the new leadership would further strengthen student welfare, infrastructure development and alumni engagement.

“A vibrant partnership between the institute and its alumni can significantly contribute to NIT Srinagar’s continued progress. We look forward to meaningful collaboration in advancing the institute’s national and international standing,” he added.

General Secretary Er. Irfan Bashir Ashai said the alumni association is optimistic that Prof. Misra’s tenure will promote a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship and academic excellence while fostering stronger institutional connect with alumni spread across the world.

Additional Secretary, Publicity & Media Affairs, Er. Farhan Manzoor Shah, said the appointment has generated a renewed sense of optimism among the alumni fraternity.
