Lucknow: Aadhaar-related services have been expanded across the Lucknow headquarters postal region to make enrolment and updates more accessible for both urban and rural residents. Aadhaar enrolment remains free, while demographic, biometric and document updates are available at prescribed fees. Postmaster general Sunil Kumar Rai said, “To address difficulties faced by working individuals who cannot visit Aadhaar centres during regular hours, seven head post offices and eight selected post offices across Ayodhya, Barabanki, Rae Bareli, Lucknow and Sitapur are now operating Aadhaar seva kendras in two shifts—from 8 am to 6 pm. At Lucknow GPO and Lucknow RMS (Charbagh), the services are available from 8 am to 8 pm.” Additionally, Aadhaar camps are being organised across all divisions at village panchayats, block offices and primary schools. A total of 45 such camps will run at various locations until March 31, allowing residents to access enrolment and update services conveniently. From April 1 last year to Jan 31 this year, the region has completed approximately 7,33,962 Aadhaar enrolments and updates.
