Rajkot: The Surendranagar local crime branch (LCB) seized a large consignment of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 76.56 lakh from a truck near Sedla village in Bajana police station limits.According to police, 11,220 bottles of IMFL were found in a truck parked within the Sedla village limits. Together with the truck and other items, the value of the seizure is around Rs 1 crore.Surendranagar police registered a case against the truck owner, the truck driver, an unidentified person who allegedly sent the liquor consignment and the intended recipient, Bilkishbanu Malek.Surendranagar LCB inspector J J Jadeja said teams from crime branch and the parole-furlough squad had been deployed on highways and border areas of the district in view of the ongoing local body election process.A case has been registered under the prohibition laws at Bajana police station.
