Ranchi: Armed criminals fired at and injured a youth near Poseya village under Murhu police station limits on Saturday evening.Police said that Vishnu Mahto, a resident of Gurmi village, was returning home at around 8 pm when 3 to 4 criminals tried to stop him. When Mahto did not listen to them, the criminals fired at him, causing a leg injury.
Mahto reached his home in an injured state and informed his family members about the incident. He was admitted to the Khunti district hospital, where his condition is said to be stable.According to reports, the victim was shot at as he tried to escape a loot bid by the assailants.Contacted, Khunti sub-divisional police officer Varun Rajak, however, said, “The injured youth did not state clearly the circumstances leading to the incident. Police are trying to nab the criminals.”
