Gumla: Two teenagers drowned while taking a bath in Chutiya river on Thursday. However, three other girls who were also present were rescued by locals. The incident took place under Basia police station limits in Gumla.The deceased have been identified as Kajal Kumari (25) and her cousin Deepika Kumari alias Deepshikha (17), both residents of Sanichartoli in Basia. Officer in-charge of Basia police station Krishna Kumar said, “The incident took place at about 8 am on Thursday when five girls went to take a bath in nearby Chutiya river.”“We have sent the bodies for postmortem examination,” he added.
