T’puram: A 20-year-old youth was found dead near the railway tracks at Cherunniyoor Cutting in Varkala on Monday morning, with the police suspecting suicide.The deceased was identified as Naveen M of Attingal. According to the police, the incident occurred between 10.30am and 10.35am.Locals alerted Varkala Police after spotting the body. Naveen’s two-wheeler was found parked near the railway tracks, the police said.The body was recovered and shifted to the mortuary at taluk hospital, Varkala, for further procedures. His father, Manikandan, approached the police and provided information about the incident.Police have registered a case of unnatural death under BNSS Section 194. SI Lijo Tom Jose is conducting the investigation.Police suspect that Naveen died by suicide, but the exact circumstances leading to his death are yet to be established.
