Hazaribag: Ahead of Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath, preparations are underway to strengthen street lighting across the city, with electrical staff directed to keep streetlights functional and address complaints without delay, the Hazaribag Municipal Corporation said.Assistant municipal commissioner Bipin Kumar said adequate lighting must be ensured on roads, in residential lanes and at major public places during the festive season. Residents should not face inconvenience while travelling because of inadequate lighting or non-functional streetlights, he said.With large crowds expected at Durga Puja pandals and nearby areas, proper illumination has become a priority for the civic body. Similar arrangements are required during Diwali and Chhath, when people move around the city until late evening.Electrical personnel have been instructed to remain active in their assigned areas, respond promptly to complaints and avoid unnecessary delays in repairing faulty lights. Staff have also been asked to coordinate closely to resolve lighting problems on time.Kumar said employees encountering difficulties during repairs could contact him directly for assistance. The corporation would provide necessary support to maintain lighting arrangements throughout the festive period.An official said the preparations were intended to improve visibility, ease movement and ensure a safer and more convenient festive season for residents and visitors.
