Jhansi: A special legal literacy campaign on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, is being conducted in schools across Jhansi to sensitise students about child safety, their legal rights and the importance of speaking up against abuse.Organised under the directions of Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, the campaign aims to help children recognise inappropriate behaviour and understand the legal safeguards available to them, DLSA full-time secretary Isha Tripathi said.Legal awareness camps were held at several educational institutions on Thursday, where senior judicial officers explained provisions of child protection laws in simple language. At Saraswati Pathshala Industrial Inter College, additional district and sessions judge Anubhav Dwivedi and civil judge (junior division) Dhirendra Kumar discussed POCSO, laws against child labour and child marriage.
