Nagpur: Former MPCC president Nana Patole on Wednesday alleged that the conspiracy involving former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh and ex-cop Sachin Waze was a fabricated narrative created to defame the then-MVA govt, and questioned who in Nagpur had supplied the gelatin planted near industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s residence.Patole’s Nagpur reference was because the gelatin was manufactured by a company here. “The conspiracy hatched by Param Bir Singh and Waze was known to Congress at the time itself. The people who formed govt after MVA took Singh and Waze and built a fake narrative to defame Maharashtra. Ambani’s house was used as a prop in it,” he said.He said the state govt had itself disclosed the Nagpur link during Assembly proceedings. “We had raised this question in the Assembly many times. The gelatin that was used came from Nagpur. The govt gave us this information itself. The question then is, who gave the gelatin from Nagpur, and who were those people who gave it?” Patole said.Patole noted that the case’s direction had since shifted. “Waze will now turn govt witness,” he said.On Congress’ participation in the Oct 4 march called by the Thackeray brothers, Patole confirmed party functionaries would be participating in it. He said the march was to defend democracy, alleging that the Centre had seized control of Election Commission. “PM Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah together have taken Election Commission under their control and have begun robbing people’s votes. Yesterday, Rahul Gandhi went to a part of Delhi where 500 votes were registered at one address but only one person’s name appears there,” he said.
