Times News NetworkKanpur:A 40-year-old former private college teacher died by suicide at his home in Kanpur’s Panki police station area on Wednesday. His children discovered him hanging in a room and alerted neighbours, who informed police on 112.Police and a forensic team examined the scene, collected evidence and sent the body for postmortem.Navneet Pal had left his teaching job during the Covid period and stayed home to take care of his two children. His wife, Neha, is a govt teacher in Siddharthnagar and lives there in rented accommodation for work.Family members said the children returned from school on Tuesday afternoon. After lunch, Navneet asked them to rest before studying and went into another room, where he hanged himself from a ceiling fan using a dupatta.When the children later entered the room, Navneet’s 8-year-old son saw him hanging. The children ran outside screaming, prompting neighbours to reach the house and alert police.
