Prayagraj: The Civil enclave (airport) of Sangam city will enter the winter season with a six-day flight schedule from Oct 25, offering passengers 21 weekly services to five major cities but leaving Saturday without any scheduled flight. The revised timetable comes amid efforts by airlines to restore connectivity after months of frequency cuts that had left the airport without flights on Saturdays.Under the winter schedule, flights will connect Prayagraj to Bengaluru, Mumbai, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad and New Delhi. There will be four departures on Monday, four on Tuesday, two on Wednesday, three on Thursday, three on Friday and five on Sunday. Sunday will therefore remain the busiest day, while Saturday will have no scheduled operation.On Monday, flights to Bengaluru, Mumbai, Bhubaneswar and New Delhi are scheduled to depart at 2.50pm, 3.15pm, 3.40pm and 4pm respectively. Hyderabad flights on Tuesday and Thursday are scheduled for 12.55pm.The schedule comes as air connectivity to Prayagraj has recently shown signs of recovery. IndiGo is adding four weekly services from Oct 25 — to Mumbai on Monday and Wednesday, Hyderabad on Tuesday and Bengaluru on Friday. The airline, however, will discontinue its Thursday’s Prayagraj-Bhubaneswar service.Akasa Air will also resume daily Mumbai-Prayagraj operations from Oct 1 after having reduced the service to just Mondays because of higher aviation turbine fuel prices.The restoration is significant for an airport that recorded only 184 aircraft movements and 26,776 arriving and departing passengers in Aug.Airport officials said winter fog could lead to changes in flight timings. Passengers have been advised to check their flight status with the respective airline before leaving for the airport.
