Gorakhpur: The state govt is set to develop an integrated science museum near Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University at an estimated cost of about ₹50 crore.The facility is expected to offer a blend of education, innovation and entertainment through advanced digital technologies.Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation (GMC) has completed the tender process, and construction work is expected to begin soon.The museum will feature five thematic galleries: Cosmic Canvas & Future Frontiers, Human Journey, ISRO, Quantum Quest Science Play and Geo Science.The galleries will use virtual reality, augmented reality and interactive exhibits to explain scientific concepts and the evolution of the universe, Earth and humankind.The Human Journey gallery will showcase the story of human evolution through immersive displays, including virtual recreations of prehistoric cave art.Visitors will also be able to explore robotics-based learning modules and hands-on science experiments in the Quantum Quest gallery.Among the key attractions will be a state-of-the-art 7D theatre equipped with motion seats, wind, fog, water spray and scent effects. It will offer an immersive viewing experience. A virtual helicopter ride simulator will also offer visitors a virtual aerial tour of Gorakhpur.Municipal Corporation chief engineer Amit Sharma said the project had been assigned to UP Jal Nigam (Urban)’s C&DS Unit and preparations were underway to begin construction.
