Kanpur: A scooter rider was injured and two roadside kiosks were damaged after a nearly 40-ft tree fell on the Tadbagiya main road in Ward 58 under Jajmau police station limits early Thursday.The tree fell on the scooter and snapped an electricity wire, injuring the rider, who was later taken to a hospital for treatment.Local residents informed the electricity department, following which the power supply to the area was disconnected as a precautionary measure.The fallen tree blocked traffic in both directions, disrupting vehicular movement until around 10 am, when it was removed. Several cars parked nearby escaped damage, residents said.
