Kanpur: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday accused the Samajwadi Party-linked “Saifai Syndicate” of controlling outsourcing firms and exploiting workers, saying the newly launched Uttar Pradesh Outsource Service Corporation has ended the practice.Addressing a gathering in Farrukhabad after distributing relief material to flood-affected families, he stated that 3,52,000 outsourced workers have now been integrated into a structured system. He noted that while the govt previously allocated Rs 12,000 per worker, employees received only Rs 10,000, emphasising that such exploitation would no longer be tolerated.The CM said recruitment and employment opportunities for youth were earlier dominated by a “Saifai syndicate”, while asserting that his govt would not allow anyone to compromise with the future of young people.Yogi said govt recruitment in the state is now being carried out without discrimination.Yogi distributed relief kits containing 26 essential items to 1,000 individuals affected by floods. Those whose homes were destroyed received allotments of residential land and financial support to construct new houses.He mentioned that the administration was tirelessly working to deliver relief supplies to flooded homes, including those where residents remained. Additionally, teachers were visiting relief camps to provide education to affected children.Instructions have been given to conduct a survey of the crop damage suffered by farmer beneficiaries due to the floods. “We will take effective steps towards a permanent solution to free Farrukhabad from natural disasters like floods.”“On one hand, our empathy is with the flood victims, while on the other, the administration has set up 24-hour control rooms, flood outposts and relief camps for relief operations. Arrangements have been made not only for shelter and food for affected families, but also for delivering relief material kits right to the homes of those who are safe in their houses.”“We will prepare to accelerate the dredging work on a war footing. Wherever farmers’ land comes in the way, arrangements will also be made to ensure they receive [compensation].”As soon as the survey report arrives, the amount will be sent directly to the accounts of the farmer beneficiaries through DBT. During the rainy season, there is a fear of snake bites, scorpion stings or bites from other insects. In view of this, arrangements for Anti-Snake Venom and Anti-Rabies Vaccine have been made in every hospital. Additionally, sufficient quantities of medicines have also been ensured.The CM indicated that he had inspected the areas of Sadar, Kayamganj and Amritpur, while local leaders had been assisting residents for the past 15 days. He commenced his address by honouring Baba Neem Karoli and Mother Ganga.Yogi announced that a proposed expressway link would connect Farrukhabad with the Ganga Expressway and Bundelkhand Expressway, positioning the district as a significant junction. In a light-hearted manner, he referred to finance minister Suresh Khanna, initiating the slogan, “Farrukhabadis chew sugarcane, while the expressway was taken away…”He stated that the govt had called for proposals aimed at enhancing road and transport connections in rural areas, with public representatives already having submitted several suggestions. Additionally, representatives were directed to ensure that roads damaged by flooding were promptly reconstructed by the Public Works Department once the waters had receded.Characterising Farrukhabad as a significant agricultural area, especially for potato farmers, Yogi mentioned that a proposal to offer compensation for each sack of potatoes stored in cold storage had been discussed during a meeting in Lucknow. A survey was underway to evaluate the losses incurred by potato farmers, with compensation set to be directly deposited into their bank accounts.He noted that an international centre was being established in Agra with support from Peru to assist farmers in cultivating potato varieties that align with market demand. The government had also organised maize procurement and raised the price of sugarcane from Rs 350 to Rs 400 per quintal.Yogi announced that the govt was preparing to distribute scooters to 50,000 final-year female undergraduate students under the Rani Lakshmibai Scooty Scheme. Kasturba Gandhi schools had been set up in every block to encourage girls’ education, while CM Composite Schools were being constructed to accommodate students from Class 1 to 12 on a single campus.He mentioned that teachers had been provided with cashless medical treatment and contrasted the current flood assistance with the previous practice of offering Rs 4,000 to individuals whose homes had been destroyed.The chief minister remarked that young individuals, including those from Farrukhabad, were obtaining jobs without facing discrimination. Uttar Pradesh had attracted investment proposals totaling Rs 50 lakh crore, which would generate employment opportunities, while MSME prospects were also on the rise, he stated.Referring to the period prior to 2017, Yogi accused the “Saifai Syndicate” of monopolising job opportunities and cautioned that anyone attempting to do so now would face imprisonment. He also took a selfie with Karan Kashyap, a high school student affected by the floods.
