Shivamogga: Primary and secondary education minister Madhu Bangarappa Saturday dismissed former minister Kumar Bangarappa’s allegations of a BJP-Congress nexus in Shivamogga district, likening his critics to a rusted car that even garage owners refuse to repair because it is beyond saving.Responding to the allegations during a media interaction in Shivamogga, Madhu said replying to “rusty individuals” was a waste of time. He also urged the media to avoid frivolous questions and focus on issues that contribute positively to the state and the country.Highlighting the govt’s performance, the minister said pending issues inherited from previous administrations were being addressed. He cited measures including streamlining teacher recruitment, filling critical vacancies, facilitating transfers and promotions, repairing school infrastructure, and distributing shoes and socks to students.Foundation laid for KPSThe minister laid the foundation stone for a new Karnataka Public School (KPS) building at Science Ground on BH Road here Saturday. The project, worth Rs 13.5 crore, is funded under the CSR initiative of Ajax Engineering Limited and Ajax Engineering Charitable Trust, Bengaluru. During the launch event, he highlighted that while Shivamogga already operates 11 KPS schools, an additional 24 have been approved through Asian Development Bank assistance, forming part of a broader state target to establish 1,000 CSR-funded public schools statewide and 35 in Shivamogga district alone.
