Buldhana: Deulgaon Raja tehsildar Vaishali Dongarjal and her team had a narrow escape as a tipper tried to ram the official vehicle during a crackdown on illegal sand transportation near Andhera Phata on Wednesday.As per the complaint, the team stopped a tipper carrying sand and allegedly found that the driver did not possess the required royalty documents. The officials instructed the driver to take the tipper to the police station. However, the driver allegedly fled with the vehicle.During the pursuit, the tipper allegedly collided with the revenue team’s vehicle. The officials managed to escape unhurt. Another four-wheeler was allegedly positioned in front of the tehsildar’s vehicle, allowing the sand-laden tipper to escape.Based on Dongarjal’s complaint, Andhera police registered a case against tipper owner Harshal Ambhore and the driver(s). Police have not arrested any of the accused so far.On Thursday, tehsildars and members of the Vidarbha Patwari Association submitted a memorandum to Buldhana district collector, demanding the immediate arrest of and strict action against the accused. The officials warned of halting work from Monday if no action is taken.Dongarjal told the media that the incident would not deter the revenue administration from taking action against illegal sand and mineral extraction and transportation.
