Gadkari approves key road projects for HimachalTimes News NetworkShimla: Union road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari has given in-principle approval for releasing Rs 25.11 crore for improving and tarring the Banjar-Aut stretch of NH 305.Gadkari has also directed the officials to expedite the sanction process for the Rs 1,775 crore Jalori Tunnel project. The directions came during a meeting with the Himachal Pradesh public works department (PWD) minister Vikramaditya Singh in New Delhi on Thursday. Discussions were held about several major road infrastructure projects in the hill state. The PWD minister sought Rs 395 crore for the NH 303 Nagrota Bagwan-Ranital road, which has received in-principle approval.

The PWD minister thanked the Union minister for according approval for two important road projects amounting to Rs 239 crore under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) for the year 2026-27. These include upgradation of Tikar-Jarol-Gahan-Nankhadi-Khamadi road and Chaila-Neripul-Yashwant Nagar-Kumarhatti road. The PWD minister has also requested additional funds of Rs 3 crore for bridges and increase CRIF allocation to Rs 200 crore, while Gadkari assured full support to the state.
