T’puram: A 33-year-old man was arrested by Kadinamkulam police on Monday for allegedly creating a threatening atmosphere outside a woman’s house while demanding Rs 1.5 lakh that he claimed was due to him from a chit fund.The accused, Shabin, of Madanvila Panayil, was arrested based on a complaint filed by Shibina, who runs the chit fund. Police said the incident occurred on July 20.According to the complaint, his conduct caused panic among the occupants of the house, prompting Shibina to approach the police.Meanwhile, the dispute took another turn after Shabin filed a counter-complaint alleging that he was assaulted later the same day. He told police that while he was standing near Madanvila bridge, a five-member group led by Basharulla, Shibina’s brother, intercepted and attacked him.Based on Shabin’s complaint, police registered a separate case against the accused. No arrests have been reported in the counter-case so far.
