Mysuru: District police here have arrested three men from T Narasipura in connection with the alleged gang rape of a woman at a lodge in Kollegala in neighbouring Chamarajanagar district.The survivor, 28, believed to be from West Bengal, has been moved to a rehabilitation centre for counselling and support, while police are still verifying her identity.The accused, identified as Rihan, 32, Kiran, 24, and Kishore, 26, were arrested after the survivor lodged a complaint, SP Mallikarjun Baladandi said. A case has been registered under BNS.According to the complaint, the trio allegedly forced the woman into a car in T Narasipura, took her to a lodge in Kollegala, sexually assaulted her, snatched her mobile phone and attempted to extort money from her.She later managed to escape after telling the accused she would arrange the money from home. On reaching home, she locked herself inside, raised an alarm and alerted her neighbours, who informed the police.Police said though the alleged sexual assault took place in Chamarajanagar district, the case was registered in Mysuru as the woman was reportedly abducted from T Narasipura.Investigators said they were examining the sequence of events and verifying the allegations. Sources claim one of the accused contacted the woman after he got her phone number from another person.
