Coimbatore: The rural police have received ISO certification for 15 more police stations, increasing the number of ISO-certified stations in Coimbatore rural limits to 20.The newly certified police stations are Anaimalai, Valparai, Perur, KG Chavadi, Madukkarai, Karunya Nagar, Alandurai, Thondamuthur, Chettipalayam, Perianaickenpalayam, Komangalam, Sirumugai, Negamam, Karumathampatti and Vadakkipalayam.Earlier, five police stations in the rural limits – Sulur, Pollachi Taluk, Pollachi East, Mahalingapuram and Thondamuthur – had secured ISO tag.According to former district superintendent of police K Karthikeyan, the certification comes as a recognition of continuous efforts of the rural police to provide high-quality, swift and people-friendly policing services. The selection was based on strict evaluations of key performance indicators.He said the rural police have been ensuring efficient station administration and service quality, robust grievance redressal and complaint maintenance, meticulous documentation and record management, cleanliness, hygiene, and a welcoming approach towards the public.According to him, this milestone stands as a testament to the dedication, hard work and public-centric approach of rural police personnel. He also appreciated the respective police inspectors, officials and field personnel for the achievement.“The collective efforts of police personnel have helped the district achieve various milestones. This includes reducing chain snatching and developing several initiatives for a drug-free Tamil Nadu. The Coimbatore rural police are committed to continuing quality service to the people,” Karthikeyan said.
