Nagpur: A man has been named in an FIR for assaulting his wife and subjecting her to physical and mental harassment. He also allegedly gave her triple talaq after she gave birth to a girl. The man’s mother has also been named in the FIR.As per the complaint, accused Imran Rashid Sheikh married Rukhsar Sheikh on May 31-2024. In August 2025, Rukhsar gave birth to a girl, after which Imran and his mother Saida allegedly began harassing her.On April 24, Imran allegedly assaulted her, following which she filed a complaint at Tehsil police station. She further alleged that Imran subsequently gave her triple talaq, after which she filed another complaint with Tehsil police. Police have registered a case against Imran and his mother under the Muslim Women Protection of Rights on Marriage Act along with various other sections.
