Chandrapur: In a chilling case of premeditated murder, four people, including the victim’s wife, were arrested on Monday for allegedly plotting and executing contract killing of a 46-year-old man for Rs1 lakh.According to Bhadravati police, body of Ravindra Tulshiram Kulmethe, a resident of Mudholi in Chamorshi taluka of Gadchiroli district, was found under suspicious circumstances near Hanuman temple at Ghodpeth village in Bhadravati tehsil on May 2. Initial inquiries began as an accidental death, but police later uncovered a conspiracy behind the murder.Investigators revealed that Ravindra’s wife, Deepmala, allegedly hired three accomplices — Varsha Parchake, Sonu alias Pravin Kalokar, and Nazir Ansari — to eliminate her husband for Rs1 lakh.According to police, the accused lured Ravindra into a car on May 1, and drove him to an isolated spot near Ghodpeth, where he was strangled inside the vehicle. His body was then abandoned near the temple.A joint operation by Bhadravati police and local crime branch led to swift arrest of all four accused from Warora and Nagpur. Police seized the Maruti Zen Estilo car used in the crime along with mobile phones linked to the conspirators.Officials said during interrogation, the accused have confessed to the crime. The investigation is continuing to determine the motive and uncover any further details behind the murder.
