Leh, Oct 4: A Health Walk-Run was organised in Leh on Sunday under the “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat – 100 Sundays Campaign”, with the theme “My Health, My Pride”, to promote physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, positive youth engagement and awareness against substance abuse.
The walk commenced from Sangya Namgyal Chowk, Leh, and was flagged off by Bhanu Prabha, IAS, Administrative Secretary, School Education, Higher Education and Skill Development, UT of Ladakh.
Welcoming the participants, Tajamul Ara, State Director, MY Bharat Ladakh, appreciated the enthusiastic participation of youth and acknowledged the coordination and support extended by officers and officials of the UT administration in making the programme a success.
More than 800 participants, including youth, MY Bharat volunteers, officials and members of the community, took part in the Health Walk-Run.
During the event, participants were engaged through Nukkad Nataks (street plays), cultural activities and awareness messages highlighting the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and staying away from substance abuse.
The programme also featured a mass pledge, during which participants reaffirmed their commitment to leading healthy, active and addiction-free lives and supporting the vision of a Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat.
The event culminated at NDS Ground, Leh, where the concluding programme was held.
