Nagpur: An FIR has been registered against members of the Talmale family and others for allegedly defrauding two city businessmen in a deal involving agricultural land worth over Rs22 crore. An 80-year-old woman, owner of the property, was charged with cheating and criminal breach of trust.Kailash Agarwal (57) and his partner had entered into an agreement to buy agricultural land belonging to Indubai Talmale (80), a resident of New Sneh Nagar, states a complaint registered at Rana Pratap Nagar police station.As per the complaint, the sale deed of the land located in Bharatwada was executed on Dec 13, 2024. The complainants transferred a total of Rs98.4 lakh in instalments to Indubai’s bank account. The sellers assured that a pending civil suit filed by Indubai against her kin regarding an earlier registered sale deed would be settled, after which the land would be transferred to the complainants.The complaint alleges that despite this agreement and a court injunction restraining transfer of the disputed property, a portion of the land measuring 13,403 square metres was sold on Feb 23 this year. Members of the Talmale family allegedly consented to the transaction even though they were fully aware of the prior agreement with the complainants.When the complainants learnt of the subsequent sale, their advocate issued a notice on March 15, 2026, to the members of the Talmale family and others. Part of the money, Rs 34.65 lakh, was later returned by Indubai without the complainants’ consent or request. Alleging that the accused persons cheated them by selling the land to a third party, Agarwal lodged a complaint.
