Kanpur: A court on Wednesday convicted eight persons, including two women, under Section 304 of IPC (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and sentenced them to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment. The Additional Sessions Judge, Subhash Singh, also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000, each, for the offence. The convicts are Rajendra, Ajay, Nivod alias Vinod, Deenu Nishad, Krishna alias Kishan, Ramshri, and Vishnu.According to the additional district govt counsel, Bhaskar Mishra, a complaint was lodged by one Vinod Kumar of Nawabganj locality, alleging that the some miscreants armed with an axe and lathis, raided his house on June 17, 2016 and thrashed all members of the family.
