Nagpur: A major fire broke out in eight warehouses in Bidgaon under Bahadura nagar panchayat on Monday morning, destroying goods worth lakhs of rupees. The blaze reportedly erupted around 9am in a foam warehouse and quickly spread to nearby scrap godowns. The situation worsened after nearly five gas cylinders exploded, turning the fire massive and visible from a long distance.The incident occurred near Bhandewadi, where around 18 tin-shed warehouses owned by Tushar Sahu were rented out to different traders dealing in foam, scrap, aluminium, plywood and other materials. Among the worst affected was Amit Ahluwalia’s Shree Ramdhara Comforts Products Pvt Ltd, where foam and related material were completely gutted.Heavy losses were also reported at Rajesh Sahu’s Navdhara Industries/Rampal Steel Industries and Jayesh Sahu’s Santosh Steel Enterprises, where scrap, iron and steel material and office equipment were destroyed. Vijay Shahane’s Fensina Vintech Pvt Ltd warehouse also suffered extensive damage, with compressor, routing and cleaning machines burnt. A Tata Ace goods vehicle, a press machine and other material at Trivendra Raghuvanshi’s Asar Green Kabadi warehouse were also reduced to ashes, while two vacant godowns were damaged.Fire brigade teams from six stations of NMC, fire tenders from Bahadura nagar panchayat and Mihan, reached the spot. After nearly 4 hours, the firefighters brought the fire under control. No casualties were reported.
