Prayagraj: More than one lakh unemployed youth in Uttar Pradesh are expected to get govt jobs in the next three-and-a-half months, ahead of the assembly elections. The largest share of these recruitments will come through Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, which is set to select 74,103 candidates.At a recent meeting chaired by the chief secretary, board officials said the examinations for 41,424 home guards and 32,679 posts of constable civil police and equivalent positions were conducted between April and June. The results for the home guard recruitment are likely to be declared by Sept 30, while the constable recruitment result is expected by Oct 31.Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) is also preparing to provide jobs to 25,194 candidates by Dec 15. The commission is expected to declare the results of recruitment examinations conducted since Jan in a phased manner.The result for 54 junior assistant posts is likely by Aug 31, while the result for 5,369 posts of junior assistant, junior clerk and assistant-level positions is expected by Sept 10. Results for 5,272 women health worker posts, 283 posts of draftsman and cartographer and 477 enforcement constable posts are likely by Sept 30.Similarly, results for 200 assistant storekeeper and assistant grade posts and 709 forest guard and wildlife guard posts are expected by Oct 7 and Oct 15, respectively. The result for 7,994 lekhpal posts is likely by Nov 10, while that for 1,557 stenographer posts is expected by Nov 30. The result for another 3,279 junior assistant posts is likely by Dec 15.Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Institutional Service Board is also preparing to conduct recruitment examinations for around 2,200 posts under combined cooperative banking and technical services. The exams are likely to be held in Sept-Oct, with the final selection result expected by Nov 30.Together, the recruitment drives are expected to provide a major employment push before the assembly elections, with results and appointments being processed on a tight timeline over the coming months.
