Rajkot: Acting on intelligence inputs about preparation and sale of synthetic milk, the Rajkot Range police team raided the premises of six traders and nearby dairies in Haripar village of Kalavad taluka in Jamnagar district and seized 7,150 litres of suspected adulterated milk.The operation also led to the seizure of 120kg of vanaspati ghee and 15kg of milk powder, which police suspect were being used in the preparation of synthetic milk.Rajkot Range DIG Nirlipt Rai told TOI that strict action was ordered against those involved in producing or selling adulterated food products that could endanger public health.Following the directions, sub-inspector C M Kanteliya and his team conducted simultaneous raids at the residences of six traders in Haripar village, under the jurisdiction of Kalavad rural police station, as well as at several nearby dairies.During the raids, police found the suspected adulterated milk being prepared and informed officials of the food safety department, who collected samples for examination.The food safety officer seized the samples as per procedure and initiated action to seal the premises involved. Police said the suspected synthetic milk, vanaspati ghee and milk powder recovered during the operation were destroyed following due procedure to prevent any potential harm to human health and environment.
